This great, mostly forgotten 70`s urban actioner was deservedly revived by Quentin Tarantino`s distribution company, Rolling Thunder in 1998. The story is as follows: two cops, one black and the other white, are assigned the most difficult and potentially dangerous case of their careers when ambitious robbers hit a fund-raising affair for Michigan`s first Black gubernatorial candidate. This results in much double crossing, a lot of gunplay, non-candy coated handling of racial tension, and a fantastically long and gritty chase scene around the fringes of Detroit in large, early 70`s model automobiles. A great script and tight performances make this far better than most 70`s exploitation films. Recommended!
