HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD: This impossibly bad zombie/cannibal movie could only have been filmed by Bruno Mattei, the laughably inept director of films like SS EXTERMINATION LOVE CAMP and RATS: NIGHT OF TERROR. The plot centers around a New Guinea chemical accident that attracts the attention of a SWAT team and a buxom reporter (Newton). When the SWAT team finally penetrates the chemical cloud, they find a race of flesh eating zombies hungry for fresh human food. Full of gratuitous nudity, stock footage of natives, animals, rotting corpses, and inane dialogue, HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD is a hilarious attempt at recreating the magic of the films that inspired it (DAWN OF THE DEAD, ZOMBIE, ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST).
RATS, NIGHT OF TERROR: The notorious Bruno Mattei (HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD) directs this post-apocalyptic horror movie. Here, a group of bikers discover an abandoned lab that contains some valuable goods such as food and water, but also is home to a race of super intelligent vermin who feed on human flesh. RATS: NIGHT OF TERROR is. of course, full of its director`s trademarks like over the top gore, laughably bad dialogue, and ludicrous special effects making it quite possibly the funniest movie about giant killer rats ever made.
