One of the youngest members to ever join the New York City Ballet, Suzanne Ferrell was discovered when she was 14, and by the age of 15 had a part in the company`s production of the NUTCRACKER. Soon, George Balanchine, the legendary choreographer, recognized Suzanne`s remarkable innate abilities and wrote parts for her in DON QUIXOTE and MOVEMENTS FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA, MEDITATION, leading to a 20 year collaboration between the two artists, broken only by Suzanne`s stint with Maurice Bijart`s Ballet of the 20th Century in the early 1970s. This documentary examines Suzanne`s remarkable life and career and focuses on her collaboration with Balanchine, one of the most fruitful relationships in dance during the 20th century.
